I believe there is also a misconception built into the ancient doctrine of reincarnation. Human beings have a higher self, and that higher self has many human selves, a line of selves, born one after another. In reincarnation doctrine, those are regarded as our past selves. But a new idea is presented here; each of those persons is a distinct individual person. I am saying that each individual is born into this physical world and physical body only one time. Those past selves are our brother-sister selves, but they are not ourselves. However, we are so closely related to them through the same higher self, that we even may remember fragments of their lives.
